An idyllic venue for a wide range of activities:

The historic St. Nicholas Church and its neigbouring hall (known as ‘The Barn’) were renovated about 25 years ago as part of the development of Warndon Villages. The Barn has well-equipped and modern kitchen facilities including a cooker, fridge, water boiler, with plates, bowls, cups & crockery provided.

The toilet facilities include a disabled toilet, with baby-change equipment.

The Barn is suitable for groups such as pre-schools, fitness, meditation, work meetings, parties, and family gatherings.

In consideration of our neighbours in the secluded setting of the Grade 1 listed ancient St Nicholas Church, our evening bookings need to be quiet from 9pm onwards (ie not audible outside the barn) and our evening bookings usually end by 9:30pm.

Location:

The Barn sits within the secluded and picturesque grounds of the small white 12th century parish church of St. Nicholas, to the North East of Warndon Villages in Worcester. (see map)

The church is easy to spot as you exit the M5 motorway at Junction 6, but as it sits right on the edge of Warndon Villages, and overlooks the countryside, it has feel and appearance of a secluded country church.

The Barn is an ideal venue for summer parties; your guests are welcome to make use of the active churchyard (grass and mature trees), and children are able to play in the church grounds safely as the church is at the end of a dead-end lane without passing traffic. Please note that the grassed area outside The Barn’s fire exits (and the fire exits themselves) are for emergency use only.
There is a nature reserve at the far end of the car park – Hillwood Meadow – which is a great place for supervised youngsters to let off steam or for anyone to walk off a good meal.

The church has its own car park with safe parking, and is well situated for bus services which stop at the bottom of the lane (5-10 mins walk). The nearest train station is 3 miles away, in the centre of Worcester.

There are a couple of pubs nearby (Barn Owl and Beefeater) and also a Premier Inn within easy walking distance if you don’t fancy driving home after your event.

Bookings:

The Barn was renovated as a community facility and is managed by volunteers; we do our best to keep prices affordable. For booking details, please see our Rooms for hire page.
